Oral Cancer

Oral cancer is an abnormal growth that can affect any surface of the mouth. It can present itself as a painless ulcer that fails to heal after 2-3 weeks, which can have the appearance of a white or red patch in the mouth.

The vast majority of ulcers/lesions within the mouth are non-cancerous, but if you have a non-healing ulcer, it should be checked by a dentist.

There is a much higher risk of developing oral cancer for people that drink and smoke to excess.
